Portal hypertension research activity: A bibliometric analysis

Purpose: Portal hypertension (PHT) is a clinical syndrome characterized by portal vein pressure gradient exceeding 5 mm Hg. hypertensive complications have high morbidity and mortality. The present study aimed to provide an overview of research, as well investigate the publications citations countries, authors, institutions, international cooperation, density terms used, employ bibliometric analysis method, shed light on future research. 
 Materials Methods: search was performed Web Science (WoS) October 21, 2021. term "Portal hypertension" searched in paper "title" section between 01.01.2001 31.12.2020. software VOS viewer (Version 1.6.17), which shows partnership mesh works, used analyze data obtained. Results: most frequently keyword with 46.4%, followed cirrhosis 11.1% liver 7.4%. In our study, effective journals related were World Journal Gastroenterology (86 articles, 1264 citations), Hepatology (45 2781 (44 3769 had highest average citation (117.8).
 Conclusion: offers alternative viewpoint global research trends 2001 2020 first hypertension, issue increasing publication trend. We believe that providing comprehensive structured information will assist researchers identifying hotspots gaps subject.
